Success is not defined by ability, but by attitude.

  • Why?

Because everyone deserves to feel powerful in movement.

While sport is a source of identity, strength, and freedom, most athletic wear still excludes wheelchair athletes. They face a lack of clothing that fits their body, their motion, and their ambition. That needs to change.

  • What?

A new approach to adaptive sportswear.

This project is a deep exploration into the needs of young, active wheelchair users resulting in a sportswear concept that combines function, innovation, and style. Designed not just for performance, but for pride.

  • Who?

Made for driven wheelchair athletes in motion.

Our focus is on young adult wheelchair athletes (ages 20–30) who train, compete, and live for sport. They don’t want to be treated differently they want to be taken seriously as athletes. Their values? Freedom, visibility, and equality.

  • How?

By combining research, design, and power.

Through interviews, field experience, and material research, we’ve developed designs that truly respond to what wheelchair athletes need: comfort, durability, and self-expression. Not just adaptive but empowering.

The ZONE 5 logo is built on two key elements. The first element is the shape of the number 5, which is inspired by abstract sketches of a wheelchair subtly, without being literal, yet clearly rooted in its origin.

The second element is the ZONE 5 heart rate, which means you are training at 90–100% of your maximum heart rate, pushing your body to its absolute limit for peak performance and intensity.

Performance Fit

Our adaptive sports shirt is specially designed for athletes who use a wheelchair.

The ergonomic fit and strategically forward-placed seams reduce pressure points -placed seams reduce pressure points the sides and prevent irritation during movement.

Breathable, lightweight Dryarn fabric is applied around the back and sides areas that are often in close contact with the wheelchair. This advanced ventilation helps minimize overheating and sweat buildup, even during intense activity.

The back of the shirt is slightly extended to prevent it from riding up while moving, ensuring your lower back stays covered no matter how active you are.

The jersey number is placed on the sleeve and remains visible at all times, even during movement. Additionally, the logo and graphic details are positioned to always be clearly visible.
